USER RESEARCH LEADER - PRODUCT RESEARCH - MEDICAL DEVICES - ROBOTICS
This is a great opportunity working in a dynamic fast paced commercialised medical devices company. The company are in the process of rolling out their solution on a Limited Market Release basis prior to full more rapid larger scale commercialisation.
To date the team have had lots of feedback through the clincial stage from KOLs, but now the time os right to get the feedback from a wider pool of end users - surgeons, and the clincial teams in various hospital settings e.g. ASCs, rural, luminaries, busy urban hospitals etc.
The team want to know what is working for the end users , how does it help them perform the operations better, does it, how easy is it to use, navigate, and many more quesions such as how does it compare with others on the market.
This is where you come in. You will be responsible for designing mixed methods to gather real wrold evidence and user opinions, and then analysing and distilling the data to draw and make recommnedations to the CSO , CEO and other cross functional teams such as R&D.

Your Core Responsibilities
The User Experience Lead will assist research activities across various facets of the organization including product development, marketing, clinical development, business strategy, and more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for uncovering key insights and identifying opportunities that can drive our business forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist with research efforts across different areas, including product development, clinical development, pricing strategy, and market positioning.
- To gather meaningful insights, conduct interviews with a diverse range of professionals, such as doctors, hospital administrators, patients, and internal team members.
- Leverage intrinsic curiosity to deeply explore and evaluate all aspects of research campaigns, with a hunger to uncover root problems or pain points. of
- Apply experience in ethnography, survey theory, and various research frameworks (including economic research) to drive meaningful and impactful outcomes.
- Utilize design thinking methodologies to identify the underlying needs, pain points, and jobs to be done of stakeholders involved in the research.
- Assist in the visualization of data, when possible, to uncover categories, commonalities, or dependencies.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure that strategic insights from research are integrated into business strategies and product roadmaps.
- Distill complex research findings into clear, concise reports and presentations that can be effectively communicated to cross-functional teams, the leadership team, the board of directors, and investors.
🧠Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- Degree in Marketing, Psychology, or Technical Field with 3 to 6 years of experience.
- Strong background in ethnography, survey theory, and applying structured data collection and analysis frameworks.
- Experience with the design thinking process and uncovering customer needs, pain points, and strategic insights.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data, discover commonalities, and present findings to various audiences, including leadership teams and both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with using and managing research databases like Dovetail and Loop Panel.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a passion for discovering new insights and solving complex problems.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
- Proven experience in research, particularly in conducting interviews and surveys with a diverse range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and internal team members.
- Proven ability to listen, observe, understand, and create.
